Hello and Welcome!

Barmouth Bridleway Group is a not-for-profit group based in the beautiful sea-side town of Barmouth and we are open to everyone, including children and non-riders. We have only been in existence a short while, but we have already exceeded our expected membership.

Our aim is increase the equestrian leisure activities of people with a common interest and increase the use of Bridleways in and around our area. We hope to build up to quite a busy programme of events, as soon as possible. Please support us!

We are open to members of all abilities and you are welcome to come on our bridleway rides, on or with a horse/pony, with a carriage, with a dog, on a bicycle or on shank's pony (walking), or just support the travellers at check points. Non-riders are particularly welcome as we always need people to help out and join in social events, so basically whatever your interest, we can offer something for everyone!

We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty and also designated deprived area (low incomes) by the Welsh Assembly, so we will be doing all we can to raise funds and keep this group accessible and enjoyable to all.

We will be holding training and help sessions as well as fun rides and competitions once we have saved for the appropriate equipment. Fees will be kept to the absolute minimum so that no one is excluded.

 

Membership runs from 1 January to 31st December. Anyone who joins after 1st October is deemed to have paid for the ensuing year. All members are requested to help as much as possible, either before, during, or after an event. Not only is this a good way of getting to know other members but the group cannot exist without it.

 

Our 2012 membership fees are:

Adult member: £10

Junior member: £1

Junior members MUST be supervised by an adult at all times, unless they are over 11 and hold a Pony Club D test certificate demonstrating competence with a horse/pony

 

Our events are likely to cost approximately £5 per member. Some events that involve trainers, equipment or transport may be significantly more.
